Knives - Am I Worrying Over Nothing?

I had a good kitchen clearout over the weekend and realised I have way way too many knives that I never ever use. So I posted on a local FB group about where best to safely dispose of them. Loads of answers, then I get a private message from a woman allegedly, saying she’d like them all as she’s just moved into a new house. Am I being daft in worrying about handing over about 12 really sharp knives to a total stranger??

No, she could easily go and buy 122 sharp knifes. I'm sure she has one or two anyhow.. Maybe when you hand em over, make sure they're sealed in a box with sticky tape so she can't just whip em out in front of you?

I'd ignore it, say they are gone and dispose of them in the way your group has suggested.

Apparently there was a bin near us where you could dispose of knives but they have now sealed it up...

You could also try charities that provide cooked food. Knives are expensive and good ones would be appreciated.

I think I'd go with spath's suggestion. Putting them in a sealed box gives you both protection. It wouldn't be a bad idea to give her a note saying that you've just given them to her, just in case she's stopped by the police.
