Just chatting to my Dad about the goings on with rejoined members and he says new members used to be coloured green, is that right, and if so any benefit in doing so again?

Yes. That was before avatars. Now you can't get an avatar unless you've been a member for X amount of time and a certain amount of posts.

I didn’t know that.

I've been here 10+ years and I've always been this shade of bland.
I think there are some "new" members who think existing ones are green!
The difference is that not everyone wants an avatar so a lack of one does not mean someone is a newbie.
It used to just be the username in green.

Learn something new every day!
It used to be green for new members (of less than 2 weeks standing) and black for everyone else.

Now we're all in the red. (Has the Ed seen my bank balance, I wonder?)

Thinking about it I can't imagine it would help much anyway, because the serial returners seem to have sleeper cell accounts, some set up a while ago I've noticed, ready for when they get banned again :/
Lol.
Oooh i vaguely remember that!! X

Yes, in the olden days new members were green.... but not for long. ;o)

You're a trend setter Alba :) x
Back in the green/black days there were no moderators on AB.

These days you can be sure that the moderators quickly check the profiles of any users posting in Chatterbank if their usernames aren't recognised as 'regulars'. Any new members identified that way, who're posting in a possibly contentious manner, will then be carefully monitored.
LOL I feel old now :-))

(I missed my AB 10th boifday, sign of old age?)
