I do quite a few crosswords and other puzzles. Just out of curiosity I decided to do a count up of how many I do daily.
Daily Express I do 8, crosswords, sudoku and other puzzles
Daily Mail I do 6 as above.
Wednesday, local paper has 3 crosswords.
Saturday local paper has 5 crosswords.
Sunday papers I do 6 crosswords that have to be posted followed by 4 more.
So that is a total of 102 puzzles a week. Only one done during the day in the week, all the rest are done in the evening while I am watching tv as I cannot sit and just watch.
Sunday is my day when I spend all day sorting out the crosswords so I can post them.
I feel exhausted just typing this!!

Yes, hobbies fill your time up quickly - quizzes are my first one followed closely by crosswords.

Keeps the mind active.
How many of those do you actually send, Caran? Must cost you a fortune!

Only the six on Sunday and one on Monday goodgoalie.
Ha, I was beginning to wonder! I won the Big Monday crossword about 4 years ago, so I reckon that pays for any that I send off - usually just the MOS £1,500, which must have racked up a fair amount over the years.
Haven't bought the Express at all since the win - a truly awful paper, but the puzzles are quite good :)

Both he Daily Mail and Express have started to have a four page pullout which have some quite good crosswords and puzzles.

Well done to winning a big one gg. I've only managed a few £25 ones here and there.
Forgot to say that I do some others: really like the Times cryptic on Saturday mornings with lots of coffee, and enjoy battling with Dean Mayer in the Sunday Times. I see a fair few other crosswords, as I'm in charge of where all the recycling is kept in our courtyard, and my kind next door neighbour brings me the free newspaper she gets when shopping at Waitrose. I wonder how much that offer costs them - you only need to spend £10 and you can take any paper, including the expensive weekend ones :)
Well done from me as well gg. Been sending it away religiously for years, and won diddly squat.
Think I've won three bottles of Malt from Keiths crossword on a Friday, but that's about it.
I also won the Herculis (when it was £250), the silver Cross pen in the Sunday Times, and the black Telegraph pen - but that was a few years ago......
I won a PUnch caption comp once
1980
£25 I think .... or £10
Oh, last year I got something into Pseuds Corner in Private Eye - £10!
