I've been to many a UK pub where the pub has a pet who wonders freely. In spain, it's certainly not uncommon for this to be the case with nice restaurants also.

Since his sister died and he is now able to relax without the risk of being beaten up Frankie has taken to sprawling in doorways or the top of the stairs.

When I ask him to move he just glares at me, if I try to nudge him out of the way he sticks his claws into the carpet.

I now try to step over him, but I am not steady on my feet and there is always the risk that he will stand up and trip me up.

Back in the 70s around Paddingto many a dubious bone was pulled from a chicken curry in an Indian restaurant. Mostly all curry, then,was served on the bone. You had to pay extra for 'off'. Some of the bones left on my plate and others did not look like chicken at all.
From time to time the phantom 'catnapper' was reported in the Paddington Mercury. Strange coincidence that.
The photograph and memory puts me in mind of a tank full of live lobsters in a fish restaurant.

retro - My pal and I went to Belgium in 1981, we were sweet 16. We went to a fish restaurant one night - one where you picked your dinner from a tank of fish. I am not squeamish and I know where my food comes from but I couldn't eat at such a place.

I think that is when we discovered chips and salad cream, or was it mayonnaise?

I was reliably informed by a seasoned traveller that cat does taste like chicken. I think that the black & white thug staring at me may be a little tough in his old age.

Lol. There you go then. A Thai restaurant with fresh moggy on display for the discerning patron and no cage or tank required. :-)
The bones of my currys of old were certainly more sharp, brittle and darker than the boned chicken I frequently use in my currys.

What a lovely, laid back( literally )cat.
There is a gorgeous little ginger cat in my neighbourhood that comes running out of whatever hiding place he's in to say hello to Sally. He's infatuated with her. Runs off if any other dog appears.
