I was a bit late getting this quiz so haven't seen whether there have been any amendments. Just one I'm puzzled about (I'm not asking for the answer): can anyone who is doing this quiz tell me if the word count for 6a is correct? I have a 7 letter word in mind but it's given as 8. Thanks

There is an alternative ending ( + e)for the word you have that is a valid spelling.

I thought that would change the pronunciation, though, mamyalynne?

I haven't checked, I presumed it didn't.

Cambridge dictionary when asked 'how to pronounce' gives the same in English but alters it in US.

I'll stay with it.

That's good enough for me, then! Chambers seems to be saying it's an a as in chase, but I can't think of anything else. It doesn't matter anyway, the important thing is to get the money to the amazing Macmillan teams.

I've just found another alternative spelling with an l in the middle, in the urban dictionary online...

I find it doubtful that Liz would be using Urban as a resource.
