I have Sky tv and usually when a see a programme coming up that I want to watch I just hit series link and it is ready to record and then watch whenever I want.
However there is a programme coming up that I want to watch called Ru Pauls Drag Race UK but it is on BBC iPlayer on Thursday 3rd. Because iPlayer isn't a channel as such, is there some way that I can set a reminder to record/watch this?
Thanks.

I can't think of any way to bookmark the programme, per se, but because iPlayer is an 'on demand' service you shouldn't need to record it anyway. i.e. the '8pm Thursday' scheduling is simply when the programme first becomes available to stream to your TV. It will still be there to watch at 11pm on Thursday, 7pm on Friday or whenever else you choose to watch it, without any need for you to record it.
Are any of the following any use? -

Add programmes to your list - https://tinyurl.com/yxehcrbk
Get notifications of new episodes - https://tinyurl.com/y6dn4x3k
Series record to a PC - https://tinyurl.com/yyxmj7b9
not sure why you are faffing with iplayer if you have got sky, do it through the sky website. Meet the Queens is there now and the other episodes should appear as they are available to record....there is also "never miss" which will email you reminders
Type it in search, click on it and then click to record. Once its recorded it should auto-series link it.

Thanks for your replies.
Buenchico - I understand that it becomes available on that date, but (like other programmes I see advertised for the coming weeks) I would like to hit a record button so that it is waiting for me after it has been broadcast. It feels like a backward step if I need to remember when something is on tv, or go searching for it rather than turning on tv and watching what I have asked it to record?
LieInKing - thanks for those links, but does that mean that I have to watch the programme on the computer/laptop/mobile etc and not my tv?
woofgang - I really don't want to faff about with iplayer but the programme is advertised as being available on iplayer. I want to watch it on my tv and not have to go onto a website to organise it. Again that seems like a backward step?
tiggerblue10 - i have typed it in, and I can play the preliminary programme that is on there but I cant see any option to record future episodes.
I think the bottom line is this . . . the scenario is that I see a prog that I want to watch. Up until now I just click on it, series link it (which happens automatically now on Sky Q) and then anytime I turn on the tv it is sitting waiting for me to watch it (after it has been broadcast). That is how I watch tv ie I turn it on and go to my recordings.
What am I missing about why this is different?!!

Hi shivvy - you're right, it's a BBC3 prog & that channel has only been available online since February 2016.

To answer your Q to me - I'd guess if you series record to a PC, then you'd have to watch it on that - there might be a way to send it to your TV, but I've no knowledge of such.

I also have zero experience with Sky, but the 2 links here might help (?) -

Use BBC iPlayer on Sky - https://tinyurl.com/y3ybqlw7
Downloading with Sky Q - https://tinyurl.com/y3ch9m33

In the 2nd link, scroll to "Catch Up Series links", where it says -

"If you download the latest episode of a show from Catch Up, a series link will automatically be set to record the rest of the series when it airs..."

Hopefully that helps, apologies if it doesn't :-)

Thanks for your help Lie-in King.
That link was helpful - so it seems that the series link will kick in after the first programme in the series is shown/watched.
Thanks for taking the time to help me suss it out - much appreciated :o)
You're very welcome shivvy, glad it was useful :-)
