Just lying down, doing nothing in particular after a busy day and gazing at the full moon with the occasional whispy cloud passing in front of it. (inside my flat, not outside...) Something magical and calming to me about it. I also live on the edge of a forest and occasionally like to walk through it during winter weather, snow, rain etc and feed a few tidbits to the animals.
Might be a bit odd to some but occasionally connecting to nature (while forgetting about Brexit etc) has a calming effect.
Sometimes think that we all might do better by re-connecting to nature a bit and forgetting all the crap in the world. Maybe its just me? I don't know!

I think people often miss so much because they’re just not looking. In the nicer weather I go for a little evening stroll with some of the kids to where we know some foxes hang out and where we’ve discovered a resident kingfisher this year. At the start of the summer the garden was crawling with hedgehogs (who’ve got a feeding station) and I’m fortunate to see red kites from my sofa and the occasional daytime sighting of a huge owl.
Oh dear. Nailit is staring at the full moon again. It won't be long before it happens again . . .

;-)
Nailit, anytime spent away from the noise and fumes of the traffic just has to be beneficial. There is something calming (like bubblewrap) about walking through crisp autumn leaves and hearing the call of all flavours of birds. Not to mention the chitter-chatter of squirrels. And, whenever i can, i get myself and my little Jack Russell to the top of Pendle - and you can't get further away from traffic in Burnley than the top of the hill that protects us from the White Rose invaders:-)
I love nature and wish I could live nearer the countryside. Apart from foxes, the odd squirrel and a few trees and plants in front gardens, I don't get to see much where I am. Not many birds about either although I see plenty of pigeons and crows.
I appreciate nature and always have because I came from a very rural area and that is why I find living in an urban area a bit grim at times.
Observing and absorbing nature is a time old recommended way to alleviate stress. Are you a moon child nails? I’m a cancer star sign, and so is my sister.
We both certainly feel the effects of a full moon.
I love nature and live very rurally with fields and woods all around. We have no lights anywhere near so can appreciate beautiful night skies as well. We chose to escape here 40 years ago and it was the best decision we ever made. We never get fed up with just looking about us. Things change day by day.
Do it a lot, my 'sacred' (small S) is out there where the wild places are.
I'm very fortunate, my balcony looks out onto water with wildfowl surrounded by trees and lots of wildlife.

I get out there less in the winter nowadays but even watching rain make patterns on the water is soothing.

Nature connects us to Mother Earth.

Glad its not just me ;-)
It's not just you. We go for a walk every day because of Tilly and most of the time it's magical. We live right on the edge of a two hundred acre green space/country park with a river, lakes, woodland and meadows. Today, the wind was a bit sharp but, when dressed correctly, it doesn't matter. If it's raining, on go the waterproofs and wellies. We wouldn't win any fashion prizes but we stay warm and dry.

I love tramping about in the fresh air.
It's not you. It would be most people, I would imagine
No, I think it's a lot more common than you'd expect
Gorgeous moon here tonight but it's a bit nippy.
Like Tilly, I have dogs that get me out and have usually had horses. We are lucky with countryside around here, although I am slightly envious of mamya's water view :-)
I would be interested to see if anyone says no and why not.
Do you know this poem, Nails? I have quoted it quite often on here.

The Peace of Wild Things
by
Wendell Berry

When despair for the world grows in me
and I wake in the night at the least sound
in fear of what my life and my children’s lives might be,
I go and lie down where the wood drake
rests in his beauty on the water, and the great heron feeds.
I come into the peace of wild things
who do not tax their lives with forethought
of grief. I come into the presence of still water.
And I feel above me the day-blind stars
waiting with their light. For a time
I rest in the grace of the world, and am free.

Always gets me as to why certain people would want to decimate nature,,,fox hunters etc? Just why? What pleasure can be gained from it?
Ah! That's another question.

I don't know the answer to that one.
Fox hunters don't want to decimate nature per se
I was brought up in the country and have absolutely no desire to reconnect with it. I like street lighting, pavements etc. Anyone else on AB not that bothered with nature.
