This morning, I woke up with this elusive rhythm in my head. I had to get up to stop myself repeating it, over and over. It's been there all day. can anyone help with pinpointing this?

De, de, de, de, DAH
De, de, de, de, DAH
De de de de de DAH!

It's some kind of competitive, spoken thing. It's not a song or a poem. Each 'verse' is spoken by a different person.

It's driving me nuts!

This is now in my head.

With a right front heel
And a left front heel
This is the way it's done

Nonsense, I know. My subconscious is working overtime!
Sounds like the memories of a dance routine Tilly.
Kangaroo, Kangaroo, Kangaroo, Kangaroo, Kangaroo.
Now when you put your head on the pillow you will think of a Kangaroo.
With a right front heel
And a left front heel
This is the way it's done

A line dance maybe !
Aren't heels at the back?
A Kangaroo in heels - unforgettable.
Timpani or tympanum, do your ears need syringing? ;)

Oh!

Someone must know this. It's not a line dance, nor is it a hearing malfunction.
Tilly2, if this rhythmic sound is causing any distress, you should have named the thread:
De De De
Dah Dah Dah
De De De :)

Oompapah, Oompapah everyone knows
Oompapah, Oompapah that's how it goes
When you play oompapah!

Brass band tune.
It's from Oliver Twist. Is it the tune in your head?
not sure but worth a punt

Or, is it this?
Question Author
Thanks 10 CS, but that's not it. It's not a song. It's a spoken rhyme.
Your not thinking about that record from the 50's where a man describes the sounds that a train carriage makes?
Question Author
No, I'm not. Sorry.

Hopefully, more will be dredged out of my subconscious as the days go by.

Thanks for trying to help.
