Another aged vulnerable person with underlying health problems believed to have succumbed to this virus in Milton Keynes. Well we were warned. That will mean,I guess, a ward full of NHS staff off duty and in quarantine for 14 days. :-(

An invisible enemy is a hard one to fight.
It will get worse before it gets better.
Why aren't the numbers of people who have recovered from the virus being deleted from the total?

Is it just to make the situation look worse than it is?
Full breakdowns are being provided -- people have always cared about total infection rates, though.

That's for sure. Looks like the world might become a lonelier place, before long ,especially in the poorer African states.
MWG, there are global figures here showing how many have recovered.

https://www.worldometers.info/coronavirus/
anyone think this could be endemic rather than pandemic?
At 5pm yesterday the figure here was 115. Now it's 163.
^ with the virus.
Didn't think it was without the virus ;-D
Can't be too careful on here OG.
Do forgive me Retro, but I thought that this might be a good thread to post the question and answer session from yesterday that was conducted. Chris Witty, The Chief Medical Officer gave most of the answers and was an example to every shallow and headline grabbing opportunist politician and civil servant that currently polute our lives and information stream. This guy knows his stuff, talks clearly, and was a calming rather than inflammatory influence. It is rather a long piece but it is info straight from the horses mouth so to speak. I am also at an age considered to put me at increased risk and I found it useful. Well done Chris Witty.

Anyway if we do have to self isolate and stay at home perhaps Boris can arrange for the breweries and wine makers to put their stuff on tap like they have in Italy.

Thanks for your input Togo'
Well done Chris Witty. Obviously not a panic ridden snow flake with a political agenda. Indeed useful info for us 'not so fazed' oldies. :-)

meanwhile planes are landing from all over the world, are any arrivals being vetted...how many patient 0's arriving? i think quentin crisp once said..in britain your not expected to live, when asked about fire escapes at back of buildings in the uk.
The description of those markets in your video Fender sounds worse than I imagined. Poor poor animals.
And poor us. Seems China never learns.
there's still a lot of peasantry outside of cities, who believe and practice so called remedies using wild animal parts, to either eat or cure diseases..they also think elephant tusks are like teeth, they grow back, tusks are found all over africa, toddler elephants teeth falling out everywhere..
Old person dies of flu-like illness shocker.

I'm struggling to be concerned about this.

My hygiene regimen has always been reasonably good, me and mine are healthy, only 0.00024% of the population has been infected, and the vast majority of those that have been infected will survive.
