Shopping Trip Rant - Sorry In Advance
16 Answers
I went to Tesco this morning to do my usual weekly shop and it was manic. Hardly anywhere to park but found an 'awkward to get into' bay far from the entrance.
Took me while to find a trolley and when I was wheeling it into the store I was asked by 3 different people if they could have it. I regrettably shouted at all of them 'NO, I'VE ONLY JUST GOT THIS EFFING TROLLEY AND GOING IN. DOES IT LOOK LIKE I'VE FINISHED SHOPPING WITH ALL MY BAGS EMPTY!!'.
Going round the store was a nightmare and the queues were all the way up the aisles including the self-service ones. Normally I'm done by 9.30-9.45 but I didn't get out till 10.45. Then when I got to my car, two young lads asked me for my trolley and said they were homeless. Unfortunately, as I was in a foul mood I ranted at them but gave them the trolley anyway for the £1. I regret shouting at them afterwards :o(
And I got in trouble with my senior manager for being 'away' for so long (was working from home as Little Tiggs had an award assembly at school today and I had to attend). She's quite dismissive and a bit hard-nosed about the whole coronavirus thing and doesn't take any prisoners.
The only good thing from my trip was that I got everything I needed as I did not need toilet roll, pasta or any of the other products from the empty shelves.
Will resume with the online shopping from now on which I haven't done in a long while..................I can't deal with the large crowds.

I live on a cul-de-sac where some pillock at the council decided to put a primary school at the bottom of the road. If I'm not home by 8.15am then I can't park. It seems none of the the little darlings or their parents are capable of walking. The shop is usually quite quiet and I get what I want in peace. Bit busier this last week but not too much. Think they all drop off their children and hit the shops just after 9am. Won't do online shopping as I like to see what I'm buying.
I had a strange but opposite experience this afternoon/evening.
Driving from the Highlands to near Edinburgh via Perth there was NO traffic jam at the usual pinch points for a Friday.
Child 2 also reported her usual one hour commute took 15 minutes.
Maybe the zoomers are sated and consuming their hoard.

Other than hand sanitiser (which hasn’t been seen in Morrison’s for at least a fortnight) most stuff gets restocked for the morning. Come 3pm when I finish my shift it’s all gone.
So although I work in a supermarket I’m no better off than anyone else for stocking up lol
In fact I had to go to Tesco to get powdered milk today.
