I was never a great fan of much of what passed for comedy on BBC Radio 2, preferring the satirical stuff that was largely on Radio 4. However 'The News Huddlines' was always an exception for me. It could be hard-hitting at times and was always good for a laugh.
Roy Hudd lived in a village just up the road from me. The last time I saw him was in 2016, when he was handing out the prizes at a local 'open garden' event. (Photos in my album here, if anyone is interested:

If heaven exists, there will angels falling off their clouds through laughter tonight.
