She probably hasn't fully mastered the use of chroma key technology yet. Weather presenters can't directly see the maps that they appear to be pointing to. All they've got behind them is a plain green screen. They then have to watch themselves on a monitor that shows the 'full picture' (i.e. what viewers will actually see, including the maps) and use that monitor image to try to ensure that they're pointing at the places that they're talking about.

There's a bit of a knack required for getting it exactly right. (I've given it a try myself at the Science Museum). So perhaps Lucy just needs a bit more practice in getting it right?
