Mail Deliveries Very Slow?

Is anyone else finding the mail deliveries very slow at the moment? I posted off for the sweets and chocolate quiz on the Thursday before last, with payment and Sae. but still havent had anything back yet?

No letters will be delivered on a Saturday - just parcels.

Really? Thanks for your reply. I didnt know that. We havent even had any junk mail either which is very unusual.

Everything is taking longer, in some areas staffing levels are very low.

I had deliveries last week as late as 5pm and 7.15pm.

Royal Mail are currently only delivering unaddressed mail (i.e. junk mail) where the postie also has to deliver addressed mail to the house anyway.

Some services are definitely slowly than usual though. I had a package sent out to me a few weeks ago by an eBay trader (with thousands of sales and a 99.1% approval rating) who used 'Royal Mail 48' to send it. (That's the business equivalent of Second Class post). It took 14 days to get here.

but our village postie came last Sat and the one before. I've noticed that he delivers to very few houses each day now, though

I just received a small packet via the post - it took the world famous Royal Mail two weeks to get it from Lancashire to Dublin Airport - and the rather less lauded An Post less than 24 hours to get it from Dublin to wildest Kerry (actually rather further in miles) ...

I posted a small parcel to Portugal last Monday, it was delivered yesterday !

charity cheque - gift aid of course ! - posted 25 March and arrived yesterday.

oh I am not sure if I can back-date it to before 6 th april - yes you can.

Posties in some areas in Scotland are delivering medication .newspapers and milk to some households so there job is far harder than their normal work which is hard enough.
