looks like it was fake, it has been taken down
page does not exist now, Sharon :(

Wow that was quick. I was kinda hoping it was true.
The story was that the government had stripped him of his mayorship.
scroll down to 15 May
his "incompetence" doubtless lies in not outlawing buses and tubes and forcing everyone to take taxis.

TfL is in a mess because of the Crossrail fiasco, which goes back to Boris's time (maybe even to Ken's)
Fake news!

Why do I say so? Because
(a) any such a major new story would be referenced on the relevant BBC page
https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/topics/cywd23g045pt/sadiq-khan ; and
(b) the Government don't have the power to remove, or restrict, a democratically-elected official anyway

That page has simply embedded the content of this one, which is as about as biased and untrustworthty as it's posible to get:
https://taxileaks.blogspot.com/

Although my political views are generally to the right of Maggie Thatcher's (and even, often, Adolf Hitler's), I generally think that Sadiq Khan has been doing a great job for Londoners.
It seems he no longer has sole decision-making authority over Transport For London, that's all. He is the Mayor still.
The Government has forbidden all but essential journeys, so revenue from London buses, the Tube and Trains is a fraction of what it normally is. Which is why TfL is short of money, and needs Government assistance. That is not the Mayor’s incompetence, it is the Government blighting of the economy which will take years to recover, and years to pay back the debt.
So yes, fake news. The writer is too thick to understand what is happening, and has put a bizarre spin on it.
From the Indy:
// A government representatives on the board of TfL, forcing a rise in the congestion charge //

Wow! The Conservatives increasing the Congestion Charge, no wonder they are keeping this quiet. Even Boris as Mayor was never daft enough to mess with CC.
doesn't mean a thing to me, this congestion charge hoo-ha.
£11.50 per day, suspended from 23rd March, coming back into use on 18th May and increasing to £15 from a date in June
Temporary increase allegedly - it won't be.

///Why do I say so? Because

Not always, chris. If it's a story that doesn't suit the aBBC narrative they have to convene a committee to put the most favourable spin on it. I've known them take hours to report a story that's been around the world twice. (and you won't recognise it when you eventually see it)
>>> I've known them take hours to report a story that's been around the world twice

So have I. It's called 'fact checking', Spicerack.
indeed, the BBC's mission is to get it right rather than get it first. And so it should be. Its old motto ("never wrong for long") isn't good enough.
Fake news - what a shame.
wishful thinking I think

Former Deputy Chairman of TfL Daniel Moylan said:
The sooner TfL issues a s114 notice so that the govt can take it away from Sadiq Khan and send in commissioners to run it for now, the better. No more blackmail.

but it aint soon enough ..... hr hur hur
It would be ALL over every news outlet if true.
