Thanks again to all who helped so graciously! Llanfair, I got 1, 2 and 5 and needed help with the other two. Have a good day!
Ha! You still needed help parsing them! As I say, unconscionable.
I can't get "single" out of my mind for 4. Not married in 6 letters but I can't see where the "le" comes from.
I think Matakari gets an unneccessary hard time from some quarters.
Maiden? Didn’t iron maiden do something with Stonehenge, or was that just Spinal Tap?!
Do, you Grumpy? I think it is exactly the other way around, and some crossword setters agree - Matakari gets it far too easy in some quarters. He never learns!
Llanfair, if these posts cause you such offense then why not stop reading them ?
And that changes things, does it Donny? Will Matakari suddenly start learning? No!
Llanfair, this is AnswerBank where the policy is if a question is asked it can be answered. It is not up to a member to criticise a poster for doing just that.
If you get off on criticism then please go ahead, I joined this forum knowing little and asking what I now know to be simple things but the help of others enabled me to enjoy crosswords.
LLanfair,if he is a serial entrant and therefore probably an occasional winner then I might agree with you and them. However given the entrants to the VLPP for example I certainly don't think he is a winner on there so therefore if he is doing these crosswords for pleasure and learning (which surely is their prime objective) then what's the harm?Meanwhile hope you get a cartoon soon.
Grumpy, we disagree about TVLPP. He is very, very likely to have been a winner! He completely refuses to confirm that he doesn't enter that competition, which it would be so easy to do. Is he learning? No signs of that, is there? Over ten years now and he still needs help with every crossword or competition.

Oh and why would I be bothered about a cartoon? lol
