Well, I don't want to go to war with France. But it is true that we paid a huge amount to the French to stop this ages ago and we know what happened. Footage of French ships escorting dinghies to British waters, remember? The French people are one thing - French politicians and current situation with Macron is another.

Meanwhile, back at the Channel...

There are already numerous legal crossings available from Northern France, people have been using them for years, they're called ferries and are quite reasonably priced, hardly ever involving an enabler for vast amounts of money.
If 'we' don't want dead children bobbing up on beaches all that needs to be done is educate their moronic parents and disband dodgy looking welcome parties who think it's okay to arrive by the back door.
