I enjoyed it very much, thanks hankir.
It's quite an achievement to construct such a fluid narrative with no padding at all (I thought perhaps ''...and watch'' was superfluous, but I think the def for 'hover' could include that).
Only the two Americanisms threw me - 'tire' (the rubber thing) and O for 'orange' (but I might be wrong with that one, because Chambers doesn't have either 'durag' or 'dOrag' and I'm getting my O from OJ Simpson!).

PM, thanks. No, I'm not too strict with myself on non-UK crosswords. I reason that there will be variations, usages, that I know nothing about (similar to our R = take, Pi, good and so on.)
