Went for daily paper at Spar. Two young men in workclothes walked with no face coverings.

I was stood at the till and the next customer was 2 metres behind. 2 feet behing him was one of the unmasked man.

I said to the cashier loudly, I see the social distancing and face coverings have been abandoned.

One man said, mind your own business. I said it my business and everyone else. You may have scant regard to your own and others safety. I said he was ignorant, arrogant and showed no respect to others.

I find as I get older I don't suffer fools as gladly as I once did.

You have some sympathy from me sparklykid in that we share some frustration at the way some blatantly abuse it and sellfishly show disregard for fellow members of society. But at are store we stopped challanging non-mask wearers as it just led to confrontation or we were ignored/dismissed with 2 words or a glare/. We found the best method was to offer a free...

then don;t go shopping in our waitrose where its hit and miss if someone wears a mask.

It seems it is mostly young people who totally disregard others feelings. There are floor markings 2 metres apart but one unmasked idiot was stood right behind the customer behind me.
You tried to cause a row by dragging the cashier into in - if you’d had any back bone you would have spoken directly to the man not wearing a face covering.
Similar issue at the bank yesterday. So many unmasked people and one of the cashiers who was wearing a mask was persistently coughing!!

I looked at him as I said it. The cashier was not involved.
Although I didn't say anything. I just gave some young woman standing behind me daggers when she stood too close. She then moved back.

there is no enforcement now in waitrose that i can tell for wearing a facemask, there was before, and they had security on the door before.
Quite agree with you Sparkly. It is possible the complete disregard, by some, for the safety of others that is the cause of the apparent chaos in the UK at the moment. They would not be allowed into any shopping area here in Portugal maskless. Those who cannot use masks must use visors or stay home. If you are isolating and don't answer your phone you can expect a friendly visit from the police too.

whatever.
have there been any attempted bank robberies by scallies wearing ppe?

Some people are exempt from wearing them so I would be careful about having a row.
only one i know of is an aber
and has COPD

I don't believe young men in workclothes are exempt.
i don;t believe its just young either,

Hi emmie. I agree. Some people just don't seem to grasp how serious the situation is.
Many of those who I saw masked had them pulled under their noses. What is the point of that?
If you can't get your own story right ... :-)
The other day there was a foreign-looking chap in Sainsburys with his mask below his nose and he was SNIFFING the fruit and veg!
Whatever next.
I found myself staring at him and then I suddenly thought: what the hell am I doing never mind anyone else.
