Can anyone help with these 3 cryptic clues for xmas quiz - all answers two words starting with M and P, or P and M
eg Ruff formally, soon formerly (6,9) = Mister President
Remove coin from clenched fist (5,5) = Prize Money

Lest we forget (4,7)
Newcomer's art comes to the screen (9,10)
A short totem for the better (4,6)

Many thanks, Spotty dog! That's excellent. I also like Mercator's projection, cashier, though don't fully understand it. Not so sure about make promise, though can't think of anything better.

I am looking at the same quiz. For "Lest we forget" I had "must promise", but like you with "make promise", I am not convinced. I had Pari Mutuel and Mercator's Projection

I am struggling with other clues, including one from the same section: "Abandoned by the somewhat incandescent" (5,6). As with the other clues, the two words of the answer must begin M and P (or P and M).

Can anyone help?
