I know it's still early, but I've spent more hours than is healthy drawing a blank on question 2. If anyone is prepared to share their answer, I'm confident the answer to the question 1 is Wisley. Thanks!

hi what town do you think it is from wisley ? leatherhead is to the right and if this clock is now in this town then it would lead us to where it was a junction can't make it out from map but will study it more.

The town before Wisley is Leatherhead (It's the burial place of Anthony Hope who 'created' Dolly Foster) So, depending on how far they travel beyond the left turn for Wisley, it could be Cobham? Byfleet? Chertsey?
I am assuming their slow progress is via the M25 clockwise, so Wentworth is the golf course and I think Weybridge is the town with the doric column (something about the Duchess of York?). Try their website.
Have Googled to Seven Dials in St. Giles, Camden(?) Have you explored that link Honeydumplin?
Question Author
Thanks Topcat - it is indeed Weybridge. Researching this gives me the road junction answer. I can now enjoy the rest of my Sunday!
the answers are Wisley and Seven Dials in Covent Garden. Anyone else been doing WWi for as long as me? Seven years and counting!
Question Author

I've only been doing it a couple of years.

Have you ever won in 7 years?

I'm sure I've been doing it for 10 years, but, as they say, who's counting? Never won, but nearly always solve the clues. A great competition and good way to learn about the UK. Notice that Ulster never gets a mention but the rest do.
