Good morning, NACW, AB helpers are far from being redundant for me. I’ve got the theme and keep being bowled out for duck, but I’ll persevere until I make a great score here. This part is exciting! Meanwhile, I’m still out of my crease with the following for which I’d appreciate some answers, thank you.

22 (a) Horse in rain gets incitement (4) : ?AE?
30 (a) Judge’s reward sent over (4) : ??E?
29 (d) Dimwit securing artist’s imprisonment once (7) : ??R??CE
And for 30(d), my stumps are still being rattled in spite of ProfessorMaisie’s hint. Thanks for an answer!

30(d) Design part of hospital, it’s suggested? (6, two words) : ??A?UP

30 Meed, deem (judge) reversed.
29d.Du ra nce
30 Draw (ward) up?
22a incitement is the defn. 3 letter word for rain/pour water on with the H(orse) inside. Your A is wrong
30a unusual word for reward reversed to give a synonym for judge
29d the dimwit is the one who wore the cap 5 letters with the artist RA inside
30d ward is the part of the hospital .....reverse it ....
30 Draw Up, design, and it's Ward, part of hospital, going up.
22 You have a mistake in 22.

29 A very common word for a Dimwit, with the usual abbreviation for 'artist' inside.
No, it was optimism that made me refer to redundancy!
30d Draw (ward reversed) up
30d.Draw up - ward(part of hospital) reversed)

Thanks, all! Some answers appear now so obvious after the fact, especially 30(d)...

Happy to have got all the unclued lights except one which I suspect may be one of the two with less common spelling:

28(a) ADH?RE? ( Are these letters correct? )

A confirmation for this final clue would be appreciated. Thanks!
42(a) Prince and family member, foreign characters (4) : PSIS
Adhered, redhead, duck.

Glad you're persevering... with requests as well as solving!

Thanks, NACW! Is my 42(a) right?
Looks okay if straightforward cryptic
Assuming no special instructions.plural of psi greek letter?
Glad I could help, Matakari.
Yes - P.prince and Sis, family member. Psis, foreign characters, plural of Psi. I'm sure you must have encountered that before!

Many thanks again, all!
Thanks, Matakari. I think you hinder yourself at times! After all your years of doing the Spectator puzzle, you will have picked up lots of the bits, little tricks etc... you just need to retrieve them.
Sorry, but I’m not sure how to ask a question. Can I ask about my last remaining word: 40A ?ROKE. Thanks
Boethius, that was Proke, from Poker (a variation of Pochard, a duck).
Many thanks
