I prefer "fast". No anagram indicator and would be "Tie" for "secure".

Both tied and fast could be right and the grid is no help. (T is a given letter but there are 4-letter possibilities which begin or end with T.)

We'll have to see which of the two unlocks the puzzle.

Big, I see your point but secure could be an adjective rather than a verb, which would allow for tied.
