there was a funeral years ago and because the deceased name was Sally she wanted Gracie Fields singing that song. Unfortunately they played the wrong track and she departed to "Wish me luck as you wave me goodbye".

My uncle's coffin was actually carried out of the church, destined for the crematorium, to the sound of 'Smoke Gets in Your Eyes' ;-)

fire by arthur brown might not go down well at a cremation
My aunt had her favourite song played at her funeral - ‘Reet petite’. It was a bit uncomfortable joining her daughters bopping away in the aisles - but it was what she wanted.

My friends Mum was 101 and the Crem was filled with Dancing Queen because she loved dancing in her day
Back in my college days, my mate was doing his teaching practice in a school located right next to a cemetery. He was a massive guy, with a very forceful personality and when, during music lessons, he demanded that the kids should sing, he made sure that they all belted it out with maximum volume.

One day he'd got the kids half way through a song, with all of the windows in the classroom open as it was a hot day, when he looked out of a window to see a funeral taking place right next door to his classroom. It was only then that it dawned upon him that the mourners might not have appreciated the very loud musical accompaniment to the service, particularly as the kids were belting out "John Brown's body lies a-moldering in the grave . . . "

;-)
Another on bites the dust by Queen. Ha Ha You're Dead by Green Day.
Arranging the funeral of a friend....with him as he's not dead yet... I asked for his choice of music.

Ain't it Grand to be Bloomin' Well Dead.....is his choice.

Live is life. By Opus.
MrG's funeral was held in a theatre. We had his favourite songs but Do You Hear the People Sing as his coffin left was my mistake.
Everyone behind him started marching and swaying to the tune... :-)
