17 a narrow path around the usual letter for Germany
Rodents - the usual four-letters, with a two-letter abbreviation for an Asian capital.

PS As it's Doc, and an easy Doc, I thought you might be less troubled this week!

Three letter term for orcadian gully followed by three letter term for chub like fishes
Did these help you, Matakari? It'd be good if you were working your way through the theme, I'm sure you'd like to manage (most of) another Doc!

Good day,NACW, many thanks for the help. As you rightly stated, Doc was not too difficult this week. I’ve got all the unclueds, but find 19D somewhat contrived. And I’m left with 29D which is still puzzling me. Some help would be appreciated with it:

29 (d ) Amateur in neckwear raised uproar (6) : F?AC?R
Your r should be s
29 fracas
Thanks, Matakari - 'not too difficult' is one way of describing this puzzle! I didn't find 19 D (with its partner) contrived, just new and interesting.

Thanks, donny48, I actually had fracas as the obvious choice, but went astray with the preamble. It's all done now!
