A long time ago, when I last did this, we used a kodak carrousel with 'slides' set on auto. so that the images would be projected onto a screen in a sequence which could continue indefinitely with a set duration of each image at say, 30seconds.

We've moved on since then I know, I would like to show 50 images sequentially & continually all day onto a screen (monitor?) in an exhibition, so what would be the best method of doing this please?

Have you got PowerPoint or similar?
What device will you be using, computer, phone, or something old?

It is a suggestion I will make to be part of an exhibition far away from me. It would be up to some technician to set it up not me, but I'd like to know (or at least sound as if I know) what I'm talking about!

In other words, would it require a stand-alone computer with a monitor? How does it work in D.I.Y. Stores etc. when you see a loop film advertising a product?
Do you have PowerPoint or similar?
You use the software to make a 'presentation' of your slides, it is remarkably easy to do if you have the images on your PC.
You save the presentation as a file, then you can either use your own laptop connected to a monitor or send the file to the destination to use their own equipment.

We need much more information to help you properly.

Do you have PowerPoint or something similar?
Will you be using your own laptop/tablet?
What will be the set up? Your own equipment or theirs?
Do you have the images in digital form somewhere?
This is the software I would use (it is free)

barry; In answer to your questions: I don't have Power Point installed# I wont be using my own equipment, it will be theirs# I do have all the images digitalised.

Could I send them on a USB stick & let them sort out the programme ? Would it be asking a lot ?

p.s. I do have Libre Office though
Powerpoint
OR
Kodak do a playback machine thingey
very cheap on ebay
The USB stick should work yes. We have a screen in the waiting area at work, all the files are loaded on a USB plugged directly in, and the images / messages scroll through on a loop
You’re all set, then. Open Libre Impress, upload your images, save the presentation and either send it over the internet or download to USB.
If you get stuck finessing your presentation we are here to help :D
