I’ve just done a lateral test and it’s positive- my son is too so I expected it although I’m not poorly at all I’m just at a loss as to what comes next
I’ve been on line for the other test but there are none in my area
There is a huge testing area in my city centre that I can walk to but I can’t just turn up there so who do I contact?
Cheers me dears

Book a PCR test on-line:

Ric,I think you can just turn up there , is it for a PCR? Someone my son in law works with tested positive so my sil took a lateral flow which was negative but then decided to take a PCR so he just went to the nearest walk in and they did it, he got the result the following day
Question Author
Thanks everyone- I think it’s going to be positive as I have spent last few days with my son and both him and his partner are positive
As long as the symptoms aren’t debilitating, I’d just ride the storm tbh Ric and do the 7 day isolation from when they started
Don't bother with a pcr test it only adds to the stats and they will have you on record. Just isolate as you see fit.
I agree with Bobbie,09.18.
Why hide it from the statistics dave....
A PCR test is more reliable so its worth doing
Well if you can isolate and its not inconveniencing you at all then yes I can see the advantage in doing that rather than trudging out to a test site.... but whats the downside to doing a PCR by post for peace of mind...if it comes back negative in a few days you can safely return to normal
Keep checking online for a pcr slot just in case you develop symptoms and need health care.
No reason not to add to the stats.
You need to get a PCR test which are far more accurate.
Then you need to isolate for 7 days. Not the end of the world.
Question Author
I’ve ordered one to be sent to me
Of course the bank holiday won’t help and I was due at panto tomorrow with my grandchildren
Has isolation dropped to 7 days?
Yes it has Rocky but only if you get two negative tests in a row
Thanks. For a lot of people, getting LFTs seem to be a bit of a problem.
For goodness sake you absolutely must NOT go to the panto.
I dont regard - "I have a pozzy LFT - what do I do next and is it rocket science?" - -- as rocket science

you shold isolate until
Question Author
I didn’t go to the panto - someone else took them
I’m feeling shocking now cold shivering with a rotten cough
Got a PCR test delivered yesterday and sent it off today so let’s just wait and see

Thanks for your help everyone
My sister and I were told to isolate for 10 days, with a positive PCR. Only reduced to 7, if you got a negative LFT on days 5 and 6. Hope you are ok x
Feel better soon.
