Where Does The Royal Family Recruit Its Servants From?

I'm sure most are suitably deferential but occassionally some let their overweening ambition get the better of them.
There was 'Backstairs Billy' and the Queen Mother, Di and 'her rock', Paul Burrell, and now a former valet of Prince Charles, Michael Fawcett, bringing one of the prince's charities into disrepute.
How could these people be weeded out at the recruitment stage?

Why should they be. If they (the RF) aren't up to "no good" there would be nothing to leak would there!

sandy, I have seen in the press adverts placed for the Royal Household. The wages are rock bottom and I wouldn't envy those involved in the short listing/interviews.

I watched an interview with royal protection officer. He said the way PA spike to them sometimes, was truly awful. Calling them names and using bad language at him and others.

You are struggling to buy food or heat your gaff or fill your car with fuel.

The examples you gave all became as they were as a result of their royal employ, and probably gave no indication of it at the initial interview, or the first period of employment.

I think I could work for the Queen, Princess Anne and Billy, they seem to have most of the class in the gang.

I don't know. I do remember my dad showing me a letter, of which the family had been very proud, from a family member who was a butler to Queen ~Victoria. I wish I'd paid more attention - they've disappeared --- but I was only 8 or 9!

For some it's a career move, work for the UK royals even minor ones then after a few years switch to the US and get a far better pay/perks set up.
