It’s Friday, so here we go again . .

It’s a middling start for me this week, with FOUR out of seven in the main quiz:
https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/world-62163298

Middling again the kids’ quiz too. THREE out of five for me:
https://www.bbc.co.uk/newsround/51318780

At least I’m consistent this week! A middling FIVE out of ten for me in the Timed Teaser:
https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/world-us-canada-62076401

So, will YOUR scores match the weather this week and be HOT, HOT, HOT? Or will they be more like some welcome rain, i.e. DAMP AND SOGGY? Please tell!

Good evening, Chris!
One of my better weeks, I feel. My scores are
4/7
5/5 yay!!!
7/10
Enjoy this very hot weekend!
2,3,3 - not good, the heat is still getting to me here with my sister in Suffolk. I thought it would be cooler by the sea!

Good evening, Karamia!

Very well done indeed on beating me in two of the quizzes (and equalling me in the other) and on being a PERFECT KID this week too! Allow yourself some extra play time in the paddling pool ;-)

If location is the key factor, Roo, your scores should be similar to mine, as we're both in the same county! I hope that you're staying near the best bits of the Suffolk coast, i.e. around Southwold and Walberswick. (I'm tempted to head out that way over the weekend but I don't much fancy the traffic going into either of those places!)
7/7 in the main quiz. Didn't do the other two.
4, 4, 3. Better for me this week. I haven’t entered for a couple of weeks as my scores were dreadful.

BRILLIANT, Jim!

I have to post when I get rubbish scores, HW4, so I don't see why you shouldn't!
;-)

Well done on being a bigger kid than me, anyway ;-)
4/7
5/5
6/10

I will confess to having my grandaughter staying so she helped on the children's version!
4-2-4. A bit like an old fashioned football team.
Can't blame the heat for addling my brains. It's not that warm here.
Great joy this week

4/7
3/5

6

Shady seeking solace in the undergrowth, hope you and yours are cool.

Apropos of nothing , is 2.27% a good return on Premium bonds, considering the rates at the moment?
5 and 4 on the first two, 5 on the timed
Evening Chris.

5/10

After scoring a maximum in the junior quiz last week, normal service has now been resumed.
Hope this finds you well ; ))

Well done with those decent scores, Zebo, even if you did get a little help ;-)
[Actually I think it's lovely that your granddaughter got involved]

4-2-4 is a tried and tested formation, Sandy, which seems to have served you reasonably well ;-)

Well done on just sneaking ahead of me at the final hurdle, Kwillmott!

Ruddy 'eck, Piggy! Both a perfect kid and a near-perfect adult this week! Very well done!

I'll let you put those scores down to the heat, I think, Wolfie - even though a quick look at the BBC weather page for Perth suggests that I shouldn't ;-)

BRILLIANT, Haras2! Well done indeed on that perfect 7!
(Er, we'll gloss over the other two scores, shall we?)
;-)

My house is quite cool due to the fact that (height-wise) I've not cut the privet hedge outside my house in the 30+ years since I've lived here. (It's roughly as tall as the house). So not much sunshine gets inside, meaning that it doesn't turn into a greenhouse in the summer. (I was wearing a sweater all this morning). Chequers has worked out that it's cooler inside than out, so he mainly sleeps in my bedroom. Tablo and Moonbeam prefer to find somewhere in the shade outdoors though.

I hope that you and Shady aren't suffering too much in the heat.

[Given that the official interest rate for Premium Bonds is currently 1.40%, 2.27% sounds pretty good to me. There are savings accounts offering more though https://www.moneysavingexpert.com/savings/savings-accounts-best-interest/ and no safe investment can currently come anywhere near keeping pace with inflation]

Well done on beating me on the first two quizzes, DTC, (and equalling me on the final one)!

Good evening, Sam. I'm surprisingly well, thank you. (I've been feeling a lot less tired this week than I have for many weeks). I hope that you're in fine fettle too. At least you matched me in the sprint event, anyway ;-)

Definitely 'steady', Campbellking ;-)
[Have you found a new friend yet? https://www.cats.org.uk/bedford/adopt-a-cat ]
6/7, 4/5 (apparently i'm not normal as i don't throw away enough plastic each week), and 7/10.
