Good evening, all!

It shouldn't be difficult to beat me in the main quiz this week, as I could only manage a lowly TWO out of seven :(
[Be warned though: There are some particularly obscure questions this week!]
https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/world-62907937

TWO (out of five) was all I could manage in the junior quiz too :(

At least I managed a half-decent FIVE out of ten with the Timed Teaser though!

Go on, have a go!

4 and 2. I can't get into the timed quiz.
I think that's about average for me.
Question Author
I've no idea as to why the timed quiz should be inaccessible to you, Sandy!

Congratulations on doubling my score on the main quiz, anyway!
[I thought that it was particularly tricky this week!]
Thanks for keeping me company on the kids' quiz, too ;-)

Five and three. At least you were consistent with the first two Buenchico.
And 5 in the speed quiz.
Question Author
Well done on getting into the speed quiz, Sandy, and on matching my (reasonable) score too!

Cashier's scores always seem to come in two instalments, so I'll have to wait to see if she's managed to disgrace me in the third quiz, as well as in the first two!
Four on the timed.
3/7 1/5 5/10

Still no zeros - just
Phew, some toughies there!
4/7 but 2 were guesses; 2/5 (eh!) and relieved to get an honest 5/10 on the timed teaser.

Have I mowed the grass for the last time this year? Doubt it!
Dozens of ripe tomatoes still to pick. Already got 6 litres of tomato soup in the freezer : pity Shady doesn't like them
Hope you've had a good week with your feline fiends (think I missed an r there :-))
Can't believe it's Friday night again already. It's come around so fast!
Matched your scores this week, Chris
2/7, 2/5, 5/10
Wishing you and kitties a lovely weekend as always : )

Apologies for the delay in responding to some posts this evening. I've mainly been upstairs (playing with my transceiver), where I've got a laptop on my desk - but there's a large cat on desk as well, making it almost impossible to type anything! So I have to come downstairs to post on AB.

I'm pleased to see that you didn't totally trounce me this week then, Cashier ;-)

Well done, Kwillmott on
(a) narrowly avoiding any zero scores (yet again!) ; and
(b) matching my 5 on the timed quiz.

Yes, Jourdain2. I thought that it's tough week too! Well done on doubling my first score (and then equalling my others)!

Good evening, Patsy! Our first perfect score this week, with that 5/5! Well done! (Well done too on doubling my first score and matching my last one).

Hi, Calmck. Congratulations on taking the lead in the sprint race (and on solid 'middling' scores elsewhere too)!

>>> Started off quite promising, then the wheels fell off !!

That's the story of my most things in my life, Sam - especially relationships ;-)
Good evening! As always, I'm "as well as can be expected for an old 'un" and I hope that you're well too.

Hi, Karamia. They say that it's a sign of old age when time seems to really fly by ;-)
[That's my excuse! What's yours?]

It seems that we're a perfect match! Will you marry me?
;-)

The kitties and I will do our best to enjoy the weekend (although, to be honest, every day is much the same here anyway). I hope that you have a good weekend too.

Good evening, Haras2. I hope that life is treating you and Shady well over there in Wales.

'Grass' and 'mowed' in the same sentence? That just doesn't computer for me! (I'm the world's worst gardener!).

I can't help you with the tomatoes, I'm afraid, as I don't particularly like them (other than in dishes containing tomato sauce or puree).

The 'r' is optional in fiends/friends with my lot, as both words definitely apply to them ;-)

Oops! I nearly missed Sharon there!

Well done on achieving 'middling' in the first two quizzes, on a very tricky week (in my opinion)!
3/7,3/5, timed teaser won’t load. Hope you and the kitties are well
Question Author
Good evening, Campbellking.

Sandy couldn't get the timed quiz to open at first but had better luck later on. (I've absolutely no idea as to why it should be playing up this week. The BBC website is normally 100% reliable).

Well done on achieving 'decent enough' scores on a very tricky week.

The kitties and I are all well thank you, as I hope that you are too. I continue to hope that you'll get some new feline company in your life in the very near future!
