The question asked by Friend in the 6th paragraph is a big clue to the TV presenter/author
What part of the country are corn exchanges found? Then look for a town with a religious sounding name. Once you've got that the rest should fall in place
I got it by trawling the list of IB schools!
I got there by guessing how the "fly-blown name" of the hamlet started, typed it into Google Maps and the first suggested completion turned out to be right.
Slightly ironic given the OPs response to previous requests for help
