Blinds, Voiles, Etc

We currently have vertical blinds on our front lounge window.
We’re doing a bit of renovating to the house at the moment, not major stuff but just a bit of updating, and I’d really like to get rid of these blinds as I’ve never liked them and feel they’re somewhat old fashioned.
We do need some sort of privacy thing at the window though and I’m contemplating what I could replace them with. The only thing I really don’t want is Venetian blinds as they’re dust gatherers and wouldn’t go with the decor in the room.
I’ve looked at day and night blinds, and voiles. Does anyone have either of these and have any comments about them..do voiles look like net curtains (which I don’t want) or do they look smarter and more up to date?

How about frosted window film on the bottom half, like this:

then you could have normal curtains, lined to keep out the cold.

When I think of voiles, sheer curtains do come to mind.
But, you can get voile Roman blinds which look rather nice.
