I was aware of antifreeze being lethal to pets but didn't realise the snow globes contained the substance.

Ethylene glycol is pretty much lethal to mammals generally. The lowest lethal dose for humans is 786mg/kg, so a dog will only need to ingest a few grams to suffer catastrophic effects.
Thank you for posting this. I'd no idea either that something so deadly is in some snow globes.
