It's no big deal but I was wondering - I thought there was a rule about number of days and posts before you got an avatar on here? Asking because a new poster joined yesterday with 1 question and zero answers and already has an avatar showing (and is also now suspended not that I knew that until just now). Have the avatar rules been dropped?

Its quite unusual for soammers to have an avatar on day one. There ften regular spammer s on other sites and already have WordPress avatars sometimes with there company logo.... so there shown straight away on there profile....but not on there question

There used to be a three week rule (I think it was three weeks) but that seems to have disappeared.

As Bob says, a lot of the spammers have avatars showing in their profile but not on their posts.

Yes have seen lots with avatars on their profiles but not their posts but this person (yes the pet one) shows on both - someone clearly thinks they're fishy as they have been suspended without any further activity.
