Feeling A Dull Ache In My Left Testicle For A Week, Worried And Stressed, Does Anyone Know What's Going On?
7 Answers
I am 22 years old currently and a week ago I woke up with a dull pain in my left testicle. I was checked by 3 doctors after stressing about it for a week. One on Saturday (through phone consultation), one at emergency services (physical consultation) on Sunday and another one at my local doctor (physical consultation) on Monday. I have had testicular torsion in 2015 and my right testicle was removed, so I am left with one, so you can guess why I am quite panicked and worried.
The dull pain is not all around the testicle, I just feel it when my penis is resting on my testicle. The doctor's prescribed me with antibiotics (Doxycycline 100mg) for 2 weeks and they believe it's epididymitis. My local doctor felt a small (cyst) bump on the epididymis tube, and where he touched (somewhere under my testicle) was where I felt the sharp pain go to my groin. The doctor said it is nothing to worry about but still booked me in for a scan which is in 2 weeks, just to stay on the safe side. I noticed that when I stand up and walk, my penis shaft tightens up a lot, and retracts back to a very small size. It feels tight to the touch, and when I feel the bottom of the penis it seems to send a small dull pain towards my testicle. The penis only loosens up only after I lay down.
What could possibly be going on? And what is going on with my penis?

From what you report above: It is NOT a torsion. It is not an infection in the testicle (orchitis) It is unlikely to be Epididymitis unless you have been sexual active with an infected woman. From what you report above:
It is NOT a torsion.
It is not an infection in the testicle (orchitis)
It is unlikely to be Epididymitis unless you have been sexual active with an infected woman.
It could be due to unusual and excessive muscular activity e.g running, lifting etc.
Like your other medical advisors I cannot come up with a definitive diagnosis but agree that an antibiotic and an analgesic e.g is the way forward.
Watch and wait.

It is important to make an appointment with your doctor to get checked out. It is definitely possible that it is nothing serious, but it is always best to rule out any possible issues. Your doctor will be able to help you determine what is causing the dull ache and provide the appropriate treatment.
