The usual suspects head the market for the Masters, which begins tomorrow at Augusta, first tee-off time 1300. Scheffler and McIlroy are jt favs @ 7/1 with Rahm close behind @ 8/1.
Reigning champ Scheffler attempts to become one of just a few who have won the Masters back to back - Nicklaus, Faldo and Woods - a tall order but given his prowess, not impossible. The Masters is the one trophy to have so far evaded McIlroy and few would begrudge him were he to achieve the career grand-slam.
Rahm has been in excellent form this season but his highest ever Masters finish was when 4th in 2018. However, if he brings his 'A' game, he could well be going out in the last pairing come Sunday.
I've read what the 'experts' are saying, and i've done my homework as regards player's records at Augusta. Any of the 3 i mentioned above could win and i was tempted to just sling a fiver on each one @ those decent odds but i believe there are a few value bets elsewhere.
Therefore, i've decided to invest £20 (from a starting 'bank' of £30) on the following bets;

£10 win Scottie Scheffler top ten finish @ 6/4 (boosted from 5/6 with Bet365)
£2.50 e.w. on Tony Finau @ 22/1 - 8 places
£2.50 e.w. on Cameron Smith @ 22/1 - 8 places

These are NOT tips - i wouldn't be so presumptuous - they are just my selections. If you choose to follow them, you do so at your own risk so don't come knocking at my door demanding reimbursement for your lost stakes :-)

All the above but replace Finau with Max Homa ...
Is that 13:00 UK time, Ken?
Rory is away at 18.48 BST I beleive
I’m on Tony Finau too, EW 10 places 20/1
Cantley EW 5 places 22/1
Fitzpatrick EW 6 places 33/1

These are all outside bets as the favourites are all great contenders and I can’t choose between them.

Jack Nicklaus, Gary Player and Tom Watson will serve as the honorary starters for the 2023 Masters Tournament starting at 7:40 AM Thursday on the first tee, and then the tournament proper will begin.

Sky are actually paying to 12 places (if chosen) but i do believe that unless the player you are backing is an astronomical price, it's not worth going to such extremes. Once you get past the first half dozen or so, there are a lot of tied places, which sometimes almost makes the returns irrelevant.

You can use the above link to keep abreast of the tournament as it progresses if you are not watching it live.

I've remained loyal to Xander Schauffele at 25/1.
Another good place to keep track is via masters.com where you can highlight your selection on the leaderboard as favourites. Showing Par 3 at the moment but the link is to the leaderboard.

Novalis, Xander has won me a few bob in the past and i must admit, he was on my lists - but i can't back them all.

Good luck to all.
I've just added Bryson DeChambeau, 75/1 for 12 places. Actually I hope he's cut, but if he isn't then 12 places is good at those odds ...

Given the fact that Augusta is expected to experience some adverse weather conditions throughout the four days - rain, thunderstorms and the odd delay expected today - more emphasis will be on those players who can drive long from the tee.
With that in mind, i've taken advantage of another 365 boost by using the remaining £10 of my 'bank' on a top 20, 1st round finish for Rory Mcilroy @ 6/4 (from 5/6). I believe that if he's to have any chance of achieving that elusive career grand slam, he'll need to be in the leading pack throughout.
Wow, what a long tournament and a great result. Well done, Rahm, winning on Seve's birthday ...
Fantastico!
what odds this morning on Phil M shooting a 65 to end up tied second....
Well done too, Fitzpatrick, Lowry & Rose :)

Some brilliantly consistent golf from Jon Rahm, the usual hot and cold (mainly cold this time) showing from Rory and Scottie adding to the long list of defending champions to struggle somewhat.
Smith (+4) and Finau (level par) flattered to deceive on Day one but were hardly a factor thereon in.
Managed to claw back a whopping £6.25 from my total stake of £30, due to Scheffler's tied 10th finish.
