A comment rather than a question. I managed to finish the crossword without reference to this site, but for one query re 15d. I had DANAID and wanted another letter. I knew there would be discussion on this clue, with some agreement on the correct answer. Thanks to all who contributed.

I posted it as a question, and got a bit more than I bargained for. I went with Danaida in the end.

This was the only one I was stuck on and I have my suspicions the clue should have been butterflies have not found Danaida in any of my dictionaries latin or English and if you put it into to all the online dictionaries says word not found. so would be glad to know how or where it was found ?

Butterfly family is Danaidae.From Latin the singular of Danaidae would be Danaida.But agree,not a good clue

I guessed right then...Danaida not just Danaid.
