It annoys me that I can't see how "Tony" fits into the sequence. I can only get one that works beginning with "Percy".

They all happen to be the forenames of English cricket captains.

That's true, but I can't see a sequence that *begins* Tony, then Colin.

The only two Tonys have been Tony Grieg and Tony Lewis, and neither of them was particularly successful (or long-serving) in that position; and both came after Colin Cowdrey anyhow.
