13a could be external drives - does that replace the S in 15d with D?
Question Author
Thanks, bhg481! Yes the S goes, but the L in 16a would also have to be replaced by a Y to give me DRY-DOCKED. I'll have to review 16a now.
16 oxyaemocyanin?
Where do the crossers in 7d come from?
on 7d i'd start from the B being wrong. What gave your B. i thought i7d would end ING
Spelled that wrong. Oxyhaemocyanin. It's what turns blood in an octopus blue. Which fits in with invertebrates. (Octopus).
bobb - I'm with you, unless it ends in BOMB
as matakari has said crossers i assume 13 and 16a cross 7d so B may become N....but not sure where other crossers come from.
Looks like a few maybe wrong
oxyhaemoglbin was probably wrong as its not just in invertibrates... so I'd go for yours bhg
replace stores for drives may give an I for the O.... so 7d probs ends in ING
bobb - your suggestions allow a dodgy RADIATION for 7d, on the grounds that radiation can be used to wreck things. OK, it makes the I wrong.
sorry - RADIATING.
Question Author
Yes! Thanks, all, it's fallen into place now with the spelling of Oxyhaemocyanin. And my 7d is naturally RUINATION!
7d Ruination
Yes sorry bhg without a grid in front of me I was forgetting the N was probably last letter (so ION) not next to last (ING)
