Politicians On The Make
The ethics code of my employer forbids all employees from accepting gifts (above a nominal value) from clients – since this could result in the client in question expecting preferential treatment, or some other consideration that would not be afforded to others. In a worse-case scenario the gift could be considered as a bribe, if something was expected in return.
If a client of my employer paid £4,500 for a holiday for me and my family – I would be dismissed for gross misconduct.
Yet Kier Starmer has accepted such a gift from LCV Group (a Welsh-based vehicle leasing company) despite his latest published tax return showing an income of more than £210,000.
Quite why someone with such an income needs someone else to pay for their family vacation is a mystery – as is what a vehicle leasing company is expecting in return.

My post critical of the Tory government was deleted almost immediately; let’s see how long this thread critical of Starmer/Labour remains before being similarly deleted.
