Of Russia's full scale war against Ukraine.
Russia's big push west of Donetsk city is proving a disastrous failure but they keep throwing bodies at it. 300,000 of their forces have died in those 600 days. 500 a day on average: the current rate is nearly double that.
Meanwhije it seems clear that Ukraine's counter offensive in western Zaporizhzhya, where the biggest push has been, has stalked or at least met nore heavy resistance. The new aircraft and missiles are still a way off arriving.
On the other hand the attrition of Russia's artillery means Ukraine now outfires the enemy on a daily basis.
How many more days?

Perhaps as long as we keep sending weapons and aid, that isn't necessarily a bad thing. As mere observers we feel helpless in both cases anyway.
For how much longer, who can say? As long as Putin hangs on to power perhaps, & he can never achieve his objectives now, it's just about his ego, the parallels with Hitler are all there.
The Russian offensive around Avdiivka makes little sense: it's a town on high ground near Donetsk city so does have a strategic importance, especially as it would push the front line a little away from the city. The Russians are very vulnerable in Donetsk city as it is within easy artillery range. However it is massively fortified since the war started in 2014. And it is going nowhere, like all their offensives. And yet they keep plugging away with huge, huge losses.
I think the fact the war is out of the headlines for now might be a good thing. If Russia hoped that it would lead to fewer resources from the US they may be disappointed.
