I think that conversion therapy is 'treatment' to make gay people become heterosexual. I don't think that it is right to persuade or force gay people to seek treatment for their 'condition'. Whether or not it should be banned is another matter.

I'm not sure if TTT understands what it's all about.

Groups such as Stonewall have rightly been campaigning for ages for a ban on religious groups (and others) promoting and running so-called 'conversion therapy' courses, which seek to 'convert' LGBTQ+ people to heterosexuality.

The Government promised to introduce such a ban but now seems to have gone back on their promise. It's that failure to act which is now drawing criticism.

No, the NHS should not be doing conversion therapy if they do.  If someone is not hetrosexual then that is simply the way they are, its not (usually) a choice.

Whether or not it should be banned is debatable though.  Whilst it is ones first reaction the problem with banning things is the unforseen issues that arise.  With this in particular I could forsee it being driven underground particularly amongst religious groups where this is more than frowned on.  We will then have no knowledge of what is going on.

I had no idea this absurdity was still carried out.

My younger brother is gay and conversion therapy would have as much success on him as conversion therapy would on me to try and convert me to being a dog.

My brother didn't choose to be gay, he's naturally gay because being gay is not unnatural.

If this absurd practice is still carried out, then of course it should be illegal.

Think the UK NHS is the Sick person of Europe at the moment . Dropped  down to 16th place .Even ranked below Czech Republic,and Estonia.  Is this another downfall from 13 years of Tory Govt.?
