Thank you so much to both of you. This quiz has driven me barmy over such examples as Carolyn/Caroline, names such as Ngaio, and at least a couple of incorrect letter counts.  I was trying to put Jemma for Jimmy etc. I'm not a great detective story reader either, so some of the authors names sound a bit obscure, and I still have a few missing answers.
