I found a website which listed about 180 nine-letter words with unrepeated letters.

I created a spreadsheet that looked for the specific numbered letters from each name and then looked through them all for actual animals.

No joy so I thought I'd look just to double-check there weren't more nine-letter words and found a website with a few more.

It had 4,607...

I copied and pasted from the that website and searched the six-letter column but couldn't see an animal.

I then did a search for a four-letter animal that just popped into my head, found it and lo and behold the other letters worked too.

The nine-letter word is

2-S
3-C
4-U
5-L
6-A
7-T
8-E
9-D

I thought there might have been a few tens of obscure words missing from the first website but not thousands.
