I'm typing a letter with my computer on "Open office" and I needed to put the date on it (ie, May 1st). The abreviation "st" after the number 1  shrank to half it's size and now all the letters are half size. How do I return them to the normal size please ?.

Thanks from an old guy on his new PC. 😕

I'm not familiar with Open Office but I would expect it to be similar to Word. In Word, if you click on text it will show you the font and size of that text. Find out what size the rest of the document then block the text you want to change and make it the same as the rest. If it doesn't work that way in Open Office at least I'll have "bumped" your query back into Latest Posts.

My guess is the st font change is automatic, but it didn't switch back afterwards. Select/highlight the text since and maybe right click or check font setting from the menu to reset it ?

Been a while since I used Open Office.

Try this - it may work as a toggle - once to turn it on, again to turn off.

for Superscript use: CTRL + SHIFT + P. for Subscript use: CTRL + SHIFT + B.

An alternative route (to that given by Tuvok) is o go to Format > Text and deselect subscript or superscript, as appropriate.

Incidentally, OpenOffice is now getting a little dated.  LibreOffice, which is based upon OpenOffice but with many improvements, is now more favoured by many people:
