The following staff readings were observed successively with level. The instrument has been shifted after the second and fifth reading: 0.675, 1.230, 0.750, 2.565, 2.225, 1.935, 1.835, 3.220. The first reading was with staff held on benchmark of RL 100.00. Enter the readings in a page of level book and calculate the RL of all points. Apply arithmetic checks. Use plane of collimation

Add 0.675 to 100.00 to get first plane of collimation.

Subtract 1.23 to get RL of change point (CP1)

Move

Add 0.75 to RL of CP1 to get 2nd height of collimation

Sub 2.565.for Rl

Sub 2.225 for RL of CP2

Move

Add 1.935 to RL of CP2 for 3rd HoC

Sub 1.835 and 3.22 fo RL's

Its very basic maths!! This all assumes the level (the machine) you are using has been checked, or haven't you been told how to do a 2 peg test yet?
