This is about Beverley in Yorkshire in August 2003: An outrageous hat, on which, it appears, a master confectioner has built a spun sugar arrangement resembling a pile of jackstraws. Can an Answer Banker tell me what it's all about please? Or point me in the right direction of finding out. One or two libraries dont know. Many thanks for any help?

Only a suggestion..can't really help as don't buy ST anymore.....but is there not a racecourse at Beverley.Could it have been a ladies day or something ? You usually get outrageous hats on these occasions.!
