Saturday Punt 1 June 2024
And as i typed the header, i realised that i had stated that yesterday was the first of the month in the 'Friday Punt' thread. My apologies if it confused anyone.
Two races from Musselburgh support the Epsom card which provides five of the '7'. Begins at 2.00 and ends with the 2024 Derby which, on paper at least, looks like being quite the race.
I'm not onew for going overboard about any of the classics, as i've probably said before, but i have to admit i'm looking forward to this one. I don't know whether or not Moore would have had the choice of rides, but if he has, has he chosen the right one? And can City Of Troy bounce back from it's disappointing run in the 2000 Guineas?
Based on the old adage, "Horses for courses", i'm having a small each way punt on the only course winner in the field, Bellum Justum, @ 25s to 4 places with 365. Sky go 5 places but the price is just 18s.
I thought you were going to have all 4 placed in your e.w. acca bet, yeasterday, Togo. You'll have had a few bob back for your doubles and trebles, though.

Like you I had a look at the Derby field and think that the race is as open as it has been for a while. I went for a distance winner rather than course winner mind with Ambiente Friendly. Yep had more than my stakes back and also had a place 5 timer up on the 7 races with a win bet on Hamish. Catch up with you later.
Epsom is one of those courses which a horse either takes to or it doesn't - no grey areas. It is also believed that if a horse acts around Chester, chances are it will also take to Epsom. With that in mind, i have decided to base my main bet at the meeting with 2 of the selections having run well there, one who won same race in 2022 and placed 3rd last year, and another narrowly beaten at Chester lto. Weirdly they are all the same price.
3.10; Due For Luck @ 5/1 - 7 places (RF/c Knicks)
3.45; Clarendon House @ 5/1 - 5 places (RF/c L F Linda)
5.15; Ziggy @ 5/1 - 5 places
5.50; Mr Wagyu @ 5/1 - 5 places
4 x £2 wins, 20p L15, 2 x £1 e.w. accas. 4 placed = £28, 4 winners = £2,712
ITV 7; above qualifiers, plus; Running Lion, New Image, Regal Reality, Up The Clarets & Los Angeles. £1 e.w. acca.
And it was only after i had chosen the above 7 that i saw 6 of them are in the 'most popular' selections.
Also done 3 Placepots at Worcester, Musselburgh and Epsom.
Best of luck, all.
Lovely day up here now. Bit cool but the sun is out. Do a bit of tidying up in the garden then off out for a walk. Bets sorted and fingers crossed. **** E/W Acca, Trebles & Doubles. ###Win Trixie. Good luck.
