We felt that we were all pulling together to try and impress upon the political leaders of the day, that we were no threat and that to discriminate, in any way, against us was both wrong and unfair.
Once the brick walls started to tumble, the need for the political pressure evaporated; however, the Pride marches evolved into the Mardi Gras/party parades.
Being older and a veteran of the previous marches, and having aceived our aims, I no longer see any need to attend.
