I read an interview with a man who'd come from Calais in one of the small boat.  He said Starmer's idea of 'smashing the gangs' is laughable.

It's civil servants in the Home Office getting the increases and those in the Border Force are included in the new pay award.

The Home Office is a lot bigger thqan Border Force and even then Border Force do a lot more than the boats.  For instance they will be over in Lebanon ready to evacuate people.  All people evacuated are taken to centres where thay are checked especially if using stop off points like Cyprus as many of those wont accept past criminals in.  It's a lot more than you think.

But yes, once again the timing is poor from the Government.

How much more public money is going to be given out on pay rises before at least one reporter asks them where the money is coming from to pay them.  They said before the election that all of these type of things have been costed, so let us see where it is going to come from as my heating allowance wont cover all of it.

Shedman, I strongly suspect that the £22 billion black hole they keep wittering on about wasn't in the Tories accounting at all but in Labour's.  Their reckless spending plan is the hole they have to fill.
