All the answers are somehow connected to three or tri.

 For instance

“Philosophers, doctors and grandads bringing gifts” is Wise Men (as in Three Wise Men). The word three therefore not part of the answer

Or an answer might be something that has three of something, eg a Traffic Light (which has three colours). 

Or the answer might simply be a word beginning with Tri, eg city of Libya is Tripoli.

The ones I’m struggling with are:

1.  Robbery, accident and MOT failure enter saying. (3,6,4,2)

2.  Mini breaks after sharing a tight space for most of a year? (8)

3.  For balancing when all the trees are cut down. (6)

4.  Mingle enthusiastically with a piano, a cello and a violin. (9)
